Hello all, I am looking for lodging near or on pools 4, 5 , 5A, 7, or 8. I am interested in a cabin/s that sleep 6 or so with showers, toilets, and kitchens. Need not be fancy. Drop me a line if you have any ideas. Thanks!–Rob

I will also add Evert’s to the list and for a couple of good reasons.

    1. with 6 people the cost will divide well so it will be affordable.

    2. All cabins have showers, full bathrooms, and full kitchens.

    3. you are right on the water. (with-in 100 yards) and boat docking.

    4. good to great fishing not matter the time of year

    5. well stocked bait shop with just about anything you would need.

Them are just some of the things that come to mind right away. Feel free to send Dean a pm or email, or myself if you have any questions.

I’ve stayed at Evert’s several times. It’s a good base of operation. we’ve stayed there and trailered our boats down to Maiden Rock which made Pool 5 more accessible. Dean has everything you need.

Everts is the only game in town as far as I’m concerned. Satisfaction guaranteed!

    Robby? You coming up catten?

10 years ago I would have told you there wasn’t a place to stay on the Upper Miss…Since then Everts has had two managers that have brought a reputation of Hospitality and Service that set the standard.

It’s not the Hilton…but the hospitality is comparable!

Just don’t tell Dean I sent you…he charges extra.

Another point I like about Everts is the ablility to either have food deliverd from Liberty’s restaurant in Redwing, or hopping in the boat and grabbing some food at the Gem bar or there is another bar on the river across the river from downtown redwing, (the name escapes me) Personally I don’t care much to cook when on vacation.

    Everts!!
Dean has everything needed to enjoy pool 4. Regardless of what fish you target. From eyes to cats to green sunfish if it’s working Dean knows about it and has it in stock, right at the resort. If your unfamiliar with a bait He’ll even tell how to fish it, and he knows how to fish!!
Besides all that, there are alot of really neat folks that hang out there

Well there is no question that Evert’s is the place to go. Now all I have to do is talk my Wife into letting me take off for a while I have not been up for 10 years or so and I would really like to get away for a few days this Spring. We used to stay somewhere in Buffalo City. Briank, I would be chasing mostly Bass and maybe a few Walleye. I really appreciate all of your input, thanks everyone!!!

If by “neat” you mean willing to share a beer and a fishing report with anyone that gets within 20 feet… yeah, the Everts Resort crowd is neat.

The accomodations are good. The service is great. The people you’ll meet around the campfires at the end of a day of fishing… they’re the best.

    Robby;
I’m no bass expert, but judging from the numbers we catch pitching jigs and cranks for eyes, pool 4 must be as good as any pool. IDA Staffer John Stears(aka riverfan) is a well known bass guide up here and his reports always have good pool 4 bass info. Come on up, give it a try and let us know how you do

Brian, I know there are bass up there, always have been. Used to be we fished for largemouth and caught some smallies. Now you just have to decide what you want to fish for. A fried of the family has built a “cabin”, actually a house if Buffalo City, he is up there as much as he is down here. If I end up coming up, I will surely let you all know how I did. Everts just might be a place to try out, it even has a reputation down here.

As you can see Robby we all like to have a good time down at Evert’s. It is a bunch of people that love to fish, willing to share info, and have a great time with whomever comes around. (we even let brian in ) Like James said, great group of guys that are very willing to help out in any and all ways they can. Hope to see you around as I will most likely be there when you get there. Let us know when your thinking of coming up and you should be able to get a report on how things are going.
