As a guy that just fishes for fun and will jump in a tourney or two and frequents a lot of areas. My debateble question is…is there too many tourneys on certain pools???

I know it’s easy to get away on pools 4-9 but pool 13 and 14 get’s crowded pretty darn fast.i can’t even go out during the weekday and enjoy myself with out guys everywhere.

after talking to a bunch of fisherman about tourneys on certain pools that a lot agree that 13 is getting ripped apart.at least 7 plus tourneys a month and sometimes more during the early months! i talked to so locals there and they said since browns has been off limits it has compacted the fisherman in just a few areas. Most say yopu can get away from a lot of poeple in praire and lansing the rest of the northen pools just because they say there is just so much more fishable area!

Would it make pool 13 for getting torn aprt if they just limites 2 tourneys a month..that way it gives the fish a break and a much more pleasureable time on the water for the non tourney guys! i just saying this for pool 13!

In all of the articles and such that I’ve read on the lower Iowa pools, the DNR biologists make it sound like fishing pressure is the least of their worries. In fact they often refer to the Miss as a “bass factory.”

I haven’t fished Clinton or Davenport much, but it seems to me there is plenty of water there, and someone who wanted to could find the fish away from the crowds. It never surprises me when the guy who weighs the heaviest fish or bags the biggest buck does so because he is doing “something different.”
