Terminator — Chart./White with a large gold Indiana over a small chrome blade . Put a big trailer on there and throw it out with a slow retreive. I’ll throw a willow leaf bladed bait in the spring, but the water better be clean.

By the way, could this be construed as ‘dock talk?’

RC Tackle short arm white spinnerbait with a gold colorado blade or a regular RC white spinnerbait with a gold colorado.

White single spin with Copper blade, or a chartreuse single spin with a chartruese blade. Usually have to assemble them myself since I can’t seem to find a good single spin around anymore.

    Chad,
You stated that your favorite was a short arm spinnerbait. Why a short arm? Do you change to a regular spinnerbait after the water warms?

    Buzzer,

I use a small frame, 3/8 oz, for most of my spinnerbait
bites. As for your curiosity, about using Willowleafs,
I have each of my more effective color schemes, in
single and tandem blade versions, with Colorado, Indiana,
and Willowleaf blades. I pick a color for the water
conditions, and then I let the fish tell me which blade
config, or color, they like. How they tell me is I get
nips. When they are nipping, or following, the spinner,
you are in the ballpark, but probably need to try a
different blade config, color, or size. When you get
it dialed in, you will know. The nips will turn into
crushes. And for Willowleafs, they are more often
the fish’s choice. This is especially true if the
water is clearer, or the fish are pressured, but I
get high mirky water fish to hit Willowleafs, too.
Like I said, it is up to them, and that one is my
    favorite spinnerbait, for the moment.

Id’e have to look in my garage to find mine. Just not something I ever throw. Just never gained confidence in them, spring summer or fall. Each to their own I guess.

The more I throw ’em, the more I like ’em! Big, little, heavy, light…………….just doesn’t seem to matter as long as there’s white! I’ve had my best successes with white and a single nickel colorado. If I’m using a caster with a 6:3.1 retrieve, I’ll sub in the willow leaf. Colored trailers have often made the difference for me too!
