They are a fast hull. Not like a bullet or stroker but they are in between, and have a good rough water ride. Many people swear by them. But they aren’t a Champ.

I’ve never even heard of Legends being mentioned in the same DAY as Bullets and Strokers!???? I’m not dissing the boat, just that they aren’t in that class…

They look a lot like a deep haul Cobra to me.

I have looked into them and they seem like a nice rig.

However, you can look here and see from the guys who own them that they are like 17 mph slower than Allisons and Strokers at full load… Legend Owners Board

72-74 mph Full Load for Legends…

    5 mph faster than Rangers

    1-2 mph faster than Stratos

    5 mph slower than Blazers

    9 mph slower than Bullets

15-17 mph slower than Stokers and Allisons

They basically ARE a tweaked Cobra or Hawk. Same guy designed them, Legend bought out Hawk.

Was that in the Spring (cool water) BFL running down-river with the current high?

I’m no expert, but I’ve fished enough tournaments and passed enough boats to know what the new, big, tricked-out boats are “supposed” to run.

I have no doubt you were running that fast, but there are always “conditions”…

If those speeds are accurate, that would fall into the ballpark of the Stratos. But I bet some Stratos guys would beg to differ.

    Who knows…

Nort, you may need to re-read my post. I said they are a fast hull,NOT LIKE A BULLET OR STROKER. If you follow the legend threads enough on BBC they tend to be a mid to upper 70’s boat.

I was just saying I didn’t think they were that close. I’ll give Champs more love…

This past fall I fished a tourney down on pool 19 and there was a 20 ft-ish Champ with a merc 225 pro XS that I could hardly get by and I was GPS’ing 79mph (full load in the morning). The dude pulled up to me at the end of the tournament and we talked. He was asking what I was running and I was asking him!

Those Champs can run if they’re setup is right…

oh yeah and my old ’86 Champion screams! It tops out at like 61 mph empty! Thats when the old ’93 Johnson Fastrike Silverstar Series 150 doesnt have a powerhead problem. Still got love for the Champ though!
