    Busch leaves BASS 1/8/2007
Anheuser-Busch chose not to renew its contract with BASS, and is no longer a sponsor of the league. The company’s involvement with BASS has been significant – it once sponsored the Angler of the Year program, and most recently underwrote the Busch Shootout, through its Busch beer brand.

BASS senior director of sales and sponsorships Michael Cassidy told BassFan: “They have not renewed. They’ve officially decided to move in a new direction. They’ve been a tremendous supporter of ours for years, and we’re wishing them well in their new endeavors.”

On whether the Shootout program would continue, perhaps under a new title sponsor, Cassidy said: “Right now, the whole program is currently under review, and we’re discussing it with a number of different folks.”

Cassidy added that Busch had been happy in its relationship with BASS, but has “changed strategy” and is becoming more involved with local distributors. “They’ve changed their position with NASCAR and some other things too,” he noted.

Anheuser-Busch Pulls Out Of Busch Series and Anheuser-Busch officials confirmed this week that the number two NASCAR series would need a new title sponsor after the 2007 season. This is quite a shock since Anheuser-Busch has had a long and fruitful relationship with NASCAR for many years. The 2007 Busch Series Champion will be the last one as the 2008 Championship will have a new name attached.
The new television package gives the Busch Series a lot more exposure than it had in the past. The series naming rights are expected to go for at least three times what Anheuser-Busch is currently paying.

Anheuser-Busch officials did say that they are not pulling out of NASCAR completely. They intend to stay with Dale Earnhardt Jr. as primary sponsor of his #8 Chevrolet.

Busch must have thought they weren’t getting their money out of the marketing in NASCAR and BASS, but I think people just really started to taste their beer, and realized it just plain sucks.

Citgo is run by Hugo Chavez. Big Big socialist and hater of anything American. Not to mention President of Argentina I believe. He has aked his congress for more power to control some parts of his country. Think marshal law and an iron fist and you will be pretty close.
