This is the second year in a row that the MN DNR Citizen’s Budget Oversight committee has made this recomendation. While we all know that an anti-tournament mentality exists within the DNR and with Joe Public, charging a tournament fee doesn’t address the issues that Tournaments present to todays fishery’s managers.
Does anybody know what the ratio is, for spending, fisheries vs. wildlife ? Apparently, they are spending a share of the wildlife monies on the fishing side. It would be interesting to know what the percentages are. This would lean towards the hunting licenses being too high, or the fishing licenses being too low. Or, not enough dollars being spent on land aquisitions. Now I am curious… This is a good read.
