Did anybody out there know that they just rewrote NR109 which sets the guidelines on mechanical harvesting of weeds?

More importantly did anybody out there know that they still have to rewrite NR107 which sets the guidelines for chemical treatments of weeds?

Or even more importantly that the guide for preparing an Aquatic Plant Management plan (which will be required to get a permit to treat weeds) is in draft form and as written requires little or no input from people who are advocates for wildlife and fishing?

Once that guide is finished we will have to live with the results for a very long time. Hope we don’t end up with a “Cement pond” as Jeb Clampet use to say.

It sure seems like the WI DNR is bowing down to the Lake Assoc. a lot.

I think that maybe we should take some of the blame. We were not paying attention. The Wisconsin Association of lakes is well schooled in the game and until know has quitely gone about thier shady buziness.

Hopefully now that we are awake and paying attention their selfish work will become much more difficult.
