This may have already been discussed, but if (god forbid) the WDNR tournament proposal is passed unchanged, how would this impact a tournament on the river out of Lansing or Marquette or Wabasha or anyplace NOT in Wisconsin?

    Hi riverdog,
This rule proposal is for tournaments launched and weighed in on Wisconsin soil. Could it effect a tournament taking offout of Wabasha? Absolutely, when Wisconsin tournament anglers have no place to fish a money tournament in Wisconsin in July or August a percentage will buy themselves a MN license and enter MN tournaments which would effect boat count. I believe these anglers would also buy gas and lodge in MN – might as well spend the money where they are allowed to fish.

So theoretically, BFL, for instance, could have events out of Wabasha, Lansing, and Marquette all in July and August regardless of other events on those pools and Wisconsin’s rules don’t apply?

And yes, if that’s the case I’d drive 40 miles to stay in MN or IA rather than spend any money in WI.

Minn. has a permit system in place. If not now then in the future they would line up with wisconsin and block that kind of move.

I can’t see those 2 DNR systems ever agreeing on something like that. If anything, I could see the Minn. DNR using the WI case as a study program….on what not to do.
