Bass and walleye guys help me out.

When there is a money tournement do you you have to draw a permit for each pool you are going to allow fishing on?

Do many tourneys go out of remote wisconsin pools like 6,7,9,11 that have limited lodging and launches?

Pool 7 sees limited action from tournaments that launch on Pool 7. Team Supreme ran the most that I know of. Catfish Days has been the biggest and most regular.

Pool 9 sees a lot more action than pool 7. BWS and Team Supreme were regular trails to launch out of pool 9. The State landing in Lansing is capable of holding larger tourneys.

Housing in Lansing and Trempealeau is about the same. Definitely not Road Star quality, but there are places to stay.

Now that I go back and read your question, you inquired about Wisconsin pools. I’m guessing you mean launches in the WI side of the river. I don’t know of any tourneys that take off out of the WI side of the river on pool 9. Other than some of the smaller scale tourneys. There’s a Walleye tourney this Saturday taking off out of the Falling Rock landing. You may want to call them and ask them if they had to get a permit.

I remember reading a post recently on some of the changes the WI – DNR want to make for tournaments on the Miss. I also think that it did say that you would be required to obtain a permit for any pool that would be fished. Hope this helps a little.
