Here are a few photos of some clients and myself from a great DC smallmouth outing this past weekend. You can get an idea of the difference between a 4.6, 5.3 and a 6.1 pound smallie. Isn’t fall great, nothing but slobs?

The fishing was very slow as turnover was going on. All of these big fish came around the same timeframe on Saturday and Sunday when the sun reached its highest point of the day. The key was one specific windblown point on the inside. The fish on Saturday came on a tube fished in 7-10 fow and Sunday on flukes in the same depth. Sloooooow was the key

As long as I am sharing some photos here are some with a couple of my friend in late July. One is real trophy caught by big bass slayer Ken Snow and the other two are of some ok fish caught on the same trip by Ken and Vern Wagner from the Minnisota Bass Federation.

Fishcrazy…what was the water temp? How long will thios bite last??? And guessing you need a south east wind to be able to fish??

Water temp was 54.7 deg. The current bite will last until water temps fall to about 44-46deg after that and until ice up they will bite on there way to and in wintering areas using different methods. As far as wind goes they will bite in just about any wind; however an east wind will slow them down for a few days.
