Terrible fishing luck!

    today was a disaster in a nutshell. I caught the first fish in short order and it was small. This was on a spot that is stacked. There was a huge frenzy just before we got there. The cast after the small fish, i hooked a log near the shoreline we were fishing. To get the bait out, we had to muddy all the water so spot # 1 was shot! spot no. 2 had no fish on it. We came back to spot #1 and couldn’t get anything so we kept fishing down the eel grass stretch. I had a nice fish, missed it not once, but 2 times. After this, a complete IDIOT comes flying past 1 other boat and a canoe in a tracker jetboat. This water is less than 3 feet deep. We are parelelling the weedline and instead of going around us in the channel at 40 mph, the bass-turd goes right through the weeds we were fishing, no more than 15 feet away from Todd’s ranger. There were some words screamed and some hands held up in the air and we yelled to blue perch to get his boat numbers as he was fishing up a couple hundred yards from us when the guy went by. They suceeded with that and we kept fishing.Then, the worm gear on my pflueger stopped working and i could no longer fish with this reel. Then you can throw in the fact that we had no legal fish and i lost 2 swim jigs, one of mine, one of todd’s. We fished all over and no matter what, found only small fish to be cooperating. After the tournament, i was very “lucky” to spend the next 4 hours helping my dad haul bricks to make a walkway. Each brick weighs 23 lbs and i had to haul 87 of these bricks, up hill about 50 feet. After that i was finally able to go fishing on shore at “spot no. 2” from before. The fish were definitely there when i got there, but weren’t acting traditionally. I had to throw diferent baits which i am not currently sharing at this time, to get fish to bite. Then the problem was hooking them and i did poorly with this. I did catch a nice 2-1/2 lber on a booyah swim jig pictured above. This was the highlight of my day. This was before the second idiot of the day came into picture. SOME RETARDS..(sorry) came flying down through the slough i was fishing. Again this is only around 3 feet deep and they could have easily taken a different route (deeper and wider too) but they chose to blow me off. It was about a 40 horse on a flat, couldn’t tell was too busy using the curse word dictionary…. As these jerks flew by probably around 30-35 mph. I did cast my (secret) bait at them but i did a bad job leading them. I was also a little afraid of hooking someone and getting in trouble in the long run. after this, i didn’t hook another single fish. I was PO’ed! So theres my day for you. I’m sure you don’t care, just thought i’d post. I personally thought it was hilarious how everything went wrong. Sure it sucked but its still pretty funny.
    How was your day?

    oh its not that the fishing hasn’t been good, its that everything went wrong to limit me from doing well. I know if i wouldn’t have hooked that log i would have pulled keepers off of it. I know that if i started at my other (was going to be backup) spot, we would have done well. Just everything lined up to be a SUCKY day. but like they say….. hindsight is always 20/20

    Congrats on being a victim of Murphy’s Law….. “Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong!”

    My whole fishing season has been like that, Cade. As good as last year was, my best ever, this year has been the exact opposite. Last year I had a few days that produced zippo. This year I’ve had a few banner days and the rest have sucked ! Just take it as a learning experience, and carry some 1oz weights to propel at the bone-loads next time. It’s fun to hear them plunk off the side of their boats!

    Hey Cade;
    Sorry about your bad day. If it helps, we all have them. I enjoy reading your post. I like the details you put into and say what you think. You should keep all these things written down somewhere. You may be able to write a book about your adventures someday and make some extra money. At the very least, you’ll be able to look back when your older and put a smile on your face. Your kids would probably enjoy reading it too. Keep puttin’ in the details. Reminds me of when I was young. Write it all down, and while your at it slip in some dates, weather reports and other tech. stuff and you’ll have a fishing log to help duplicate the good days and improve the bad days. Don’t try to leave it all to memory,as you get older you’ll find that it dosen’t stay so sharp.
