Checked out Target Lake for the first time a week or so ago. Had 1 lmb and two other hits. It was pretty shallow back there. So, is Target Lake worth my time? Better during another season? Just a slow day?

Don’t judge it by the way it is now. They are starting to raise the water now and have the west gates almost closed down at Genoa. I mostly walleye fish but see (when the water is higher )some serious bassers coming and going there a lot. I’d give it another try when the water comes back up. Lawrence

I couldnt agree more. With the water this low Target Lake has to be almost drained out. I was in there during the high water in june and couldnt find more than 5 or 6 feet at the most.

Oh yeah, I wasn’t going to give up on it, guys…just wondering if my results were typical and if I was better off going somewhere else.

I would concentrate on the wing dams and rip rap like Hougie said in his pool 8 report. I’m going to try his light jig and leech suggestion down on nine this weekend, and I have been watching some interesting things happen to lint, dragon flies, and water bugs while I’ve been working the wing dams and think I might dig out my fly casting gear and have some fun too.
