We are very pleased to announce Tom Donaldson (aka Blue Fleck) as our newest member of In-DepthAngling’s Pro Staff Team!
Tom’s contrbutions, commitment and passion have been incredible since he joined In-DepthAngling as a member in 2002. Along with being an active member, he’s currantly a Moderator in the Mississippi River Bass Forum and serving on In-DepthAngling’s Steering Committee.
Here’s more of Tom, in his own words… “I’d have to say that most people who know me, consider me a ‘Bass Guy.’ Truth be told, I consider myself a fisherman who doesn‘t follow any specific species of fish. That’s not to say, I don‘t fish my fair share of Bass or Bass Tournaments. I’ve fished tourneys as far south as Kentucky and as far north as Lake Minnetonka. I find it incredibly educational and challenging to fish different bodies of water. I believe it‘s important to fish with different people also. Too often guys get stuck in a rut fishing the same body of water with the same person/people. That’s why every year I make a couple trips to the Upper Miss. or to Mille Lacs Lake looking for Smallies, Walleyes, and the occasional Rock Bass. I believe any angler can learn a lot from fishing different species.
I don‘t just fish different species, but I love to fish with people who specifically fish outside of the Bass fishing world. I’ve learned so much from fishing with the area’s best Walleye anglers about presentations and boat control. Tips and techniques that can easily be applied to Bass fishing.
The same holds true for fishing different species of fish. Some of my best Bassin’ spots have come about from fishing Walleyes and Panfish. Some of my best Walleye spots have been discovered casting cranks for Smallies. You’d be surprised how many 3lb+ Largemouth Bass I’ve caught on a canepole fishing for bluegills….
If I were asked, what my purpose here on IDA is, I’d have to say, it’s to continue learning and meeting new people with whom I can share what I’ve learned. When I’m done learning about fishing, I’ll sell all my gear and take up golf! As it is, I don’t see myself on the PGA Tour ANY time soon.
Lastly, more than anything else, I’m Husband and Father. My wife Stacey supports me throughout all my fishing/hunting adventures. My beautiful daughter Mattison and my wonderful son William are always waiting for me at the door when I get home. What more can a guy ask for?”
Welcome to the Pro Staff Team Tom!
