Fished pool 8 today. I got to start the day fishing with Knelson from here on the site and his buddy Brad. They’re fishing the Team supreme Tomorrow. honestly we didn’t catch a lot at that time. they were able to figure out what they wanted to do tomorrow based on what they saw and what i showed them. I caught 2 keepers, one around 2 lbs the other was around 3 lbs. Kelly also caught a keeper up on the black river. that was it for the time out with Knelson but i knew where i could find some good fish on my little afternoon trip back out. i went to some spots where the fish have been pretty stacked lately and filled a pretty descent limit of 11 lbs. I had 10 lbs but culled out a little 1-1/2 lber with a nice 2-1/2 lber towards the end. The best part is most of the fish I caught today were on a superspook junior which was really fun. I have been using this bait with great success latley as a search and destroy sort of bait when bass are schooling and feeding on shad on the surface. Its been extremely effective right along with a trap. I lost my awesome Rapala trap but still caught 2 keepers on the Frenzy bait today. Only one fish other than a little snake was caught on a swim jig though. I threw a brovarney jig that was sort of white and gold but the bite on the swim jigs has just been off lately. The jigs have accounted for a lot of my smaller fish, just the opposite for what it was a month from now. Its fine with me, as long as i can keep getting limits. Theres no problem with having them go through the roof on a spook either!
