Ft. Madison Lodging

Anyone have any cheap places to stay in the Ft. Madison area? One more question, what license should a guy get for a tournament on pool 19, Iowa or Illinois? Thanks in advance

A license for either state will work. But I believe if you go past a bridge in a tributary you need to have that states license. With that being said you will have the oppertunity to go under more bridges on the IL side then IA.

There were also guys in the last BASS Northern Tour who needed Missouri license because they were locking down…

I don’t think you need MO license if you have IL. I think IL license covers more bases but it is unlikely that creeks will get much action this time of year.

There are a couple nice hotels and a decent campground. Try the Iowan motel it has lots of parking and there is also a super8. There are others to I’m sure. I can’t reccommend any as I always camp in RV. Campground is Duck Haven and is on the south end of town. Decent facilities but dusty gravel road to get to it about 1/2 mile long so be sure boat is covered.

Oops, I was just repeating what the tournament director said at the meeting. He mentioned the co-anglers should ask the boater if they would be fishing MO water so they could run and get a MO license. Anyway, that’s good to know that I won’t have to possibly make that trip the night before the tournament.

There is a river south of the lock on pool 20 I believe it is the Des Moines that you have to have an IA or MO license to acess Illinois license will not work.
