I think 7′ medium heavy is a good size. It depends on what you are flipping…??? Flipping could be done on a 6′ light rod with a 1/32 ounce sinker and a 3 inch craw if you want. It all depends. I like mine for heavy cover, but mostly use it as a swim jig rod. It works great though for big plastics and jigs in heavy brush and slop and it is pretty nice for carolina rigs too.
hey why are you making fun of my name..the only reason i changed mine was because my uncle brought a switchbackxt over to my house today and i thought it was really sweet. It shoots really smooth and very accurate also. i might buy one soon but just don’t have the money right now. But if it really makes you that mad that i tried and loved a product that you really liked also, i guess i’ll change my name.August 2, 2006 at 1:35 am #465814sorry thought you were bustin my chops on having that name before ill change it! Glad you enjoyed the bow i agree it is the best bow on the market in my oppinion. I think you’ll be saving for a bit! i bought mine brand new for 750.00 i think out at la crosse archery. Good luck on getting it youll love it!
August 2, 2006 at 1:37 am #465815Thanks man. hey i’m changing my name already though. I understand how you might have taken it that way. So were you fishing today..I saw Max biking in to town and assumed he was in route to ur place.

August 2, 2006 at 2:31 am #465845nope, i couldn’t get the boat out but i went to a friends house instead to play halo2 on xbox live . I did get to get a whole butt load of hooks which i really need from wal-mart so i feel good that i’m not missing anything from my arsonal. if you don’t mind me asking, what type of pattern were you guys using. I thought that today might have some fast action but i guess it depends on when you left the water. When that front moved in i bet it got real good In some areas.
kNelsonPosts: 104August 2, 2006 at 2:48 am #465850first off, im not much of a flipper, but if i chose a rod, it’d be at least a 7 1/2 H rod..i’d ratherpitch with say, a 7′ MH. just my opinion.
secondly, about this Switchback XT business..i used to shoot Mathew’s, i shot the switchback XT and the Hoyt Trykon XL and all that good stuff, but hands down the best is the Bowtech Allegiance. i got mine for free, i could get any bow i wanted for free(long story), so i had zero bias, if any it’d be towards Mathew’s because i shot them before. Bowtech seemed to have a more solid wall, they dont use the whole tree trunk in their grip, and they’re about 15-20 FPS faster. Mathew’s good, yes, but Bowtech is now the bow to beat IMHO. lol i got pretty carried away there didnt I?
August 2, 2006 at 3:05 am #465855same here about the flipping/pitching thing. I don’t flip ever either, but i think that 7′ MH is good enough for Pitching heavy cover and would think it would be about the same for flipping although could see where a longer rod would make it easier to flip it out there a little more.
August 2, 2006 at 3:27 am #465862we started with swim jigs then tried crankin it up and then went to plastics and some top lol
Plastics were what produced the most hits…max had some luck on top water i guessAugust 2, 2006 at 3:38 am #465866
