119 Boats @$100 per boat – partner tourney.
If I counted right, 69 were fishing bass and 50 were fishing Walleye
Bass was 6 fish limit
~18.55#s won it and they had a 4.99# LM kicker. Big fish was 5+ LM.There were 2 bags at ~18+, 1 @ ~17+, 2 @ ~16+ and then 9 @ 15+ pounds. to comprise the payout to the top 14 spots.
A great day! Catfish Days brings out great sticks to locals just having fun testing there skills. I enjoy fishing this tourney each year!

July 10, 2006 at 12:43 pm #459179We finished with a mixed bag, weighing in 5 LM and 1 SM (1.7#) at 15.22 lbs with a big fish at 3.34 lbs for 11th place.
My dad and I cashed our first tournament check… we had a great time! Thanks, pop!
July 10, 2006 at 3:39 pm #459254Thanks, John.
With the Stren this week, Pools 7,8,9 will be FROTHY with boat wakes… 200 boats, I understand. They were out in full force Saturday checking out everything. I was amazed at how these guys would pull right up to guys obviously fishing a touranment and “watch” what people are doing and patrolling the waters.
Question to the crew… would it be out of line to follow guys and watch them Saturday?
Also, I would expect things to be quiet out here until the tourney is over… we bass guys are sure loose with info, eh?
Good luck to those fishing this week!
Hey, Cade, you could likely make some money this week with your local knowledge… go to the boat landing and offer to take some of these “out of towners” on the water and show them Goose… charge them $500 for a days worth of guiding!
July 10, 2006 at 3:57 pm #459258I’ll pay Goose a $500 guiding fee if it comes with a money-back garuantee .
RG- a few years back I was fishing with Jeff Ritter on the final day of a Stren and we had a boat come up and follow us for like an hour. Jeff had no problem with it… . I think as long as you don’t get in the way the guys like it because it makes them feel important which in turn makes them focus harder.
Doesn’t everyone want the KVD crowd swarming them like bees all day?
I’d be following this guy they call, “Slop Bass”. I heard this might be his turn-around tournament…
July 10, 2006 at 6:33 pm #459308Dave,
Was that you with Ritter on pool 4? I got in close enough to ask how it was going. As long is a guy is respectful there shouldn’t be a problem. I’d rather have that than a guy hiding with binoculars.
July 10, 2006 at 7:11 pm #459318Thanks, guys. I was thinking about just trying to learn a little this weekend, if I can keep up! Man, there are some BIG rigs around here!
Geez, I wonder if Dave coudl keep up with his Blazer…
Oh, and speaking of yellow boats, there is BRIGHT yellow big rig fishing this weekend for sure… he watched us fish for at least an hour Saturday… I though it might be you at first, but it truned out to only be a Triton!
bucketmouth1Posts: 175July 10, 2006 at 8:55 pm #459348Hey easy on the Triton remarks. There was a big yellow Triton that fished the tournament on Sat. They ended up 5th.
July 11, 2006 at 4:05 am #459426That was me John. I figured whoever that was watching us knew what they were doing because we could see they also spent time watching Feldermann… .
July 11, 2006 at 1:12 pm #459483Feldermann had one of the Rochester guys on the back deck so I had to chear him on. What I learned, and have to re-learn
is stick with an area rather than run all-over the place, “the local curse”.July 11, 2006 at 1:29 pm #459489Quote:

Just bustin’ proverbial chops… not trying to rustle feathers.
Afterall, I was more commenting that it was obvious since there was a single angler in a big yellow Triton, and he was “watching us” as he “fished” that it seemed obvious what he was doing.
Yes, there was a pretty yellow Triton fishing Saturday – and, yes, they caught fish! Was that you?
Now, since I am a Ranger owner, I have to by default, bust on Triton’s!
In my mind, though, its really not about the boat, its about the fisherman in the boat! When I see flats taking off from tournaments, I immediately am more nervous about them outfishing me than some of these guys in LaCrosse today… wow, these rigs are simply amazing! Saw a couple Z21’s with 250XS engines and I think, unless I was imagining things, I saw a Z22 with a 300… now that may even make D-nort shutter…
Oh, and for those unaware of D-nort’s boat, you will know 2 things right away when you see it…
1. Its yellow, really yellow.
2. Its fast, really fast.July 11, 2006 at 1:50 pm #459500…and if a Z22 w/300hp Ranger did exsist, even that wouldn’t make him shutter!
July 11, 2006 at 1:54 pm #459501John, you are refering to Scott Cloutier?
Boy Feldermann was on some good fish. I fished with him on day 3 when he caught the biggest limit of the tournament. When I saw you on day 4…he was in the exact same spot…ALL DAY! You saw…F-man and Ritt didn’t move much all day .
bucketmouth1Posts: 175July 11, 2006 at 11:25 pm #459772I saw the guy you were talking about fishing a wing dam on the main river when we were headed back to the weigh in. NO I don’t have that butt ugly yellow triton that is my buddies boat. I have a blue Triton. I think I was sitting next to your dad at the pre tournament meeting at the fire station.
July 12, 2006 at 3:45 am #459851There has been a Z-22 fishing some team supreme’s and Angler’s choice around the pool 5 areas this spring. It had a 300 hpon it but wasn’t that fast.

It had 20inch rims (4 plus spare) on it with low profile performance tires!! They looked like they belonged on a Corvette or something from a rap video.
My BIL had a 4.99 bass in their boat, but unsure of what they placed in Catfish days tournament…

What’s “BIL”?
The 1st place bag had a 4.99 kicker…

I know Basscat came out with the 20 inch rim option last year, I think another company has as well.

So, you upgrading your Cat then?
July 12, 2006 at 2:44 pm #459998Nope, not a bling kind of guy I guess. Plus, replacing the tires is just too expensive.
