I got off work sunday morning completely disappointed with the weather. I got home to find my boys ready to go despite the rain. We waited around for awhile to see what was going to happen and decided to go. Rain or shine they were going to fish. As we got to the boat ramp things were not too bad, got launched, rain gear on, and the gates of rain opened. I gave the boys the option of loading up or fishing, they chose fishing . We didn’t stray to far from the Clinton St. landing for fear of things getting worse. So we headed to the power plant to fish the bay. We began on the point by French’s Slough and worked our way around. My youngest son and I both hit it off with a double. That was a blast, him asking for help and not being able to because I have my own fish to land. He did it all by himself. They were both in the 1.5 to 2 lb range. We caught one more before the lightning started and it was time to go. We got home had some lunch and hot chocolate to warm up. My oldest boy was feeling bad because he hasn’t caught a fish the last two outings now. So when the weather broke about 3pm he was ready to go again, so back on went the rain gear and away we went. We decided to go back to the power plant and finish our plan. What a great idea! Broc started of with this northern, measurement was 36″ on the nose and weight was 14.8 lbs. At one time while I was getting the net, the fish took off below the deck and I thought Broc was going with but he was thinking and gave him some line till I was ready and then he horsed him back. The kid was wore out and shaking. What a blast. Broc heres to you. We finished out our trip catching a few more bass and alot of northerns and Cole even caught a Pearch on a swim jig. What a day. I have to say thank you to my boys for the wonderful experience they are giving me.
