It’s getting to be that time of year where flipping the bank all day can land you a nice limit. Just wondering what everyones favorite bait to flip cut banks are. Mine used to be a 1/4 oz black/blue jib with a creature trailer with fancy dancy arms. But the last two years I have done better on a watermelon colored r/c tube craw Texas rigged.

I’ll be flipping banks tonight so I’ll have some posts for tomarrow.

    White swim jigs

Did this last late last week and earlier this week on 8 and 9 and caught a ton of largies with a few smallies mixed in.

Kevin-make sure you find the banks with some current on them because no current, no bait, and no bass. At least that is what I found. Good luck tonight.

Me, too. So, Blue, do you go with a slip weight or pegged or jig head?

Fluke. Cast up stream and let it sink along the bank!

What is a cut bank? I think I have a general idea, but certainly haven’t tried to spot one on the river.

there are a lot of cut banks on the river. A cut bank forms when current pushes under the bank and “cuts” it out. Not all of the productive banks are “cut” but a the best ones are those kind. If you can find stumps and logs, even better. caught a nice bass today pitching a cut bank on a black jig with craw trailer. 18″ 3.2 lbs.

Does the cut itself attract fish, then? Do they hold right up underneath there?

    yeppers!
The fish hold under and around the cut banks, especially in little pockets and stuff…stumps along the way are a plus. Good luck!
