I figured Jones wouldn’t take on a crapy vendor so i tried the X-tools culling tools. Not that i’m culling…..no, no, no…..I suck to much as a fishermen for that. I just get tired of getting spined chasing fish around the live well and want to have them on a leash. Well the design of the jaws on the leash are such that the fish does not get off and you don’t have to put a hole in their jaw.

    Go X-Tool……

I might have bad ones but my fish get them off all the time when i go to pull them out of the well they flop and come off. Other then that they are nice.

Dan. I have a set of them. The fish seem to shake them off if the live well. Reach in to grab a float and there is no fish on it. Maybe it’s that there was no fish in the well!

Are you putting the little side of the clip on the outside of the mouth? That seems to make a difference.

I tried a culling system a couple weeks ago called Bag-em. I had all 5 fish tagged in the live well at 6:30 and when i got them out at 3 every one was still tagged. This one clamps on the fishs upper lip and worked great

Dan I have been using the Bag-em culling tags for a couple of years. I do have one come off ocasionally but it is usually just one so it isn’t a problem. You can pull the fish out with these but I use the tag as a guide to run my hand down and grab fish’s mouth.

Before that I used the basspro type that had the stringer clip. I had problems with that chain breaking about as much and that took longer to fix.

I should also state I am sponsored by Bag-em but wouldn’t be if I didn’t use it.

As a side note I bought the X-Tools pliers and nothing cuts Fireline like it does. They are awesome.

I’ve got the sticks, had more problems with the clips then one would expect so I took them off and put the “stringer” style clips on them. Now they are perfect.

The scale is second to none – the tags do not stay on fish for me but can be easily modified.
