i beleive this was mentioned earlier but any one who pre-paid to fish all great lakes events, make sure that you note that the clinton, ia event has been pushed back one week from aug 19th to the 26th. for people that work weekends this would have been nice info to receive before you put in for vacation

Im not positive on this but I know the Childrens therapy center tourney (usually 140 boats) was the same day/same pool it was originally planned, and there is a BASS weekend series the next day. Not sure if that weighed in on the decision but maybe some local guys pressured them/brought it to their attention since it might hurt #s and make for one busy week on the water.

It was because of the Children’s Therapy Center Charity Tournament out of Albany on the same day…could have been a real mess! It is generally a 125- to 150-boat tournament. It was good of BFL to change the date.

No offense to you QC1, and I understand if the move was justifed or whatever, but there’s nothing good about changing a date and really not even telling anyone. When did they plan on sending out some kind of formal announcement??? A lot of anglers plan summers, vacations, etc around their tournament schedule. Sometimes up to a year in advance… so when they make a change, it can reak havok on plans…..

Now in this case, they moved it back a week right onto my wedding date So I obviously can’t fish it now, which in turn throws the entire BFL season. I’m going to have to fish the Chevy Wild Card now b/c it will be tough to qualify for the regional when you miss a tournament.

    Oh well I guess

I have already changed my motel and schedule. It is hard to believe an organization like FLW/BFL would not send out a event date change or something. Does not make me happy!

Throwes a wrench into things for me too. I start a new job that week. It is kind of hard to take off a few days of school to prefish during the first week of classes. Also, Really sorry to hear that Slop that is unfortunate, at lest it is for a good cause.

Maybe they should have just switched the pool. Seems easier.

Hmmmmm….. they must have changed the date awhile ago. I just looked at my reservation that I made Jan. 27th, and it’s for the right date!

No doubt they should have made a better attempt at informing people of the change.

BFL made the formal announcement at the beginning of the pre-tournament meeting this past Friday evening.

I agree that changing the date was crappy…
