    Hey, guys (y’all),

It’s been a while since I was In WI. We’re living in Roanoke, VA now. It’s grown on me, and I’ve come to love it, but I’ve often thought that were I to move back to WI, I’d move to LaX. Why? Beautiful and on the Miss!

Congrats to Champman for doin’ so well at the Classic!

    Slopbass, you around?

What’s it like to fish down here? The simplest way to put it is that EVERYONE is good down here. Period.

Here’s what I’ve learned in nearly two years of living here: confidence wins a tournament; not “secret baits.” Sometimes that confidence has y’all covering miles and miles of water. There’s no weed-line or vegetation here. Now what do we do? Answer (at least that I’ve found)? Everything we’ve ever read regarding Southeastern or Southern lakes in Bassmaster Magazines applies. Really.

Also, say we’ve found the mother-load of fish to carry us through two or three days of a tournament. Now, we get there and then suddenly realize that five other guys have found them too! We’ll usually the first one in cove of the the creek has the first five minutes in the area; after that, it’s anyone’s area.

Kerr Lake in VA/NC is huge. Smith Mountain Lake in VA is huge. Potomac is huge. Every impoundment is huge down here. It’s great!

I wish the guys I know on the board could come down and fish a week with me. You’d love it!

Well, have a great week, everyone. Talk to you later.

Are you catching those “green” rough fish? The larger mouthed version or smaller mouthed kind? Can’t eat either any way.
