It’s the boat…seriously. Fish are attracted to yellow boats.

WOW, way to go guys! A 7 1/2lb’er is very impressive. I got one almost that big last year from a local FP lake. I was shocked when I finally landed it. You two had to be busting a gut catching one in a tourney!

Nice job Nort- that is an absolute pig especially under tourney conditions – where was that tourney?

    Thanks guys.

We weighed 6 fish for 24.44#…with a 7.42 kicker! The big fish was caught by my partner Chris. This was Chris’ first tournament EVER…talk about about beginners luck. We had a decent limit early and decided to finish the day fishing the same area where I caught the 6 1/2 last week and it paid off. Chris caught the big fish on a brush hog. Most of the other fish came on swim jigs. The amazing thing about the big fish was that she appears to not have spawned. I was talking with Jones-in yesterday and he thinks when those females get super old they can stop spawning.

Here is a picture of the big fish and a dinky 4 pounder…

    Dave, first off, HOLY HOG!!!

2nd, if I read you right, are you saying you are surprised that she hasn’t spawned yet (and thus that most largemouth have already spawned), or are you saying it doesn’t look like she’s carrying any spawn this year?

Well we all got so excited over BIG dave and the Bass that ate Puckaway (and the Bass that ate Puckway Jr.that he got the week before) that no one noticed that Ben Kurtz and Dustin Smith were down on the Winnabago system taking 2nd in a Fishers of Men event. Isn’t that the same Ben Kurtz that won a BFL last year?…….

What are they putting in the water down in the southeast corner of the state??????? I want some……

Good job to all three of you.

Thanks for the props Brovarney. I would like to add that about 80% of our fish came on a 1/4 ounce Brovarney Swim Jig, and that we didn’t lose a single fish on them all day. Thanks for making the best swim jigs on the market. And p.s. if you are looking for the special water send me a pm.
