I am hoping you will all keep us (me, please) abreast on the condition of the boat launch in Lansing.
I plan on being down there as soon as it opens up. I know the rain should open things up fairly quickly. Please keep us posted.
    Thanks

Jeremy, I don’t know about Lansing, but already on Tuesday about 8 boats had put in at the Villa Louis landing at PdC and they were hitting the wing dam out from Lawler Park really hard. So the river is opening up pretty well here.

I’ll check it out tonight after work. There was a fair ammount of ice that day, but I’m sure that there will be less and less of it. I know the backwater areas like the Sawmill Slough are iced in still.

Well, boys and girls, your uncle OnTheWater was going to go fishing this Suday (’cause he’s “da birt-day-boy), but Mr. Transmission just took an official dump…. Big sigh.

Know why she took a dump ? Well, there’re are few reasons:

1.) The ol’ ’99’s got 100,000 miles on’er now, hey.
    2.) D doesn’t = 3 (get that? Drive doesn’t = 3… Always pull you ride in 3).
3.) I’ll defer saying that this is usual OnTheWater’s luck, and simply say that (and it’s true) this GM trani apparently has a naughty “history” of problems…

Well, I think I’ll just say home and drown my sorrows in my wife’s lasagna and my ma’s spit-getti .

Let me know how you cow-pollks do this weekend.

    Thanks,

    OnTheWater

Almost all the ice is down through the dam now, but another problem started this afternoon. Or at least that is when I notice. The flow is screaming and several large logs started floating down through. To make it worse lots of dead marsh everything ,(grass, weeds, leaves),floating and dumping on the bottom. Perfect timing I have a guide customer coming tommorrow who wants to learn three-way cranks.

The state landing at Lansing still has some ice in it. But the big slough and Winishiek landings are open. As of yesterday little or no ice flowing in the river.
    Good fishing
