to set the hook on a bunch of fish and catch a monster!!
I now have a police job in southwest Ioway and gained access to a bunch of farm ponds…I really haven’t fished many in my life time but I found out they can be fun..I’m posting this on the river forum because i’ll never seperate myself from the river..I’m just glad my schedule is great and spend 3 to 4 days a week back home on the river..I never really realized how great we have it here on the river 
Anyways…them bass in sw ioway haven’t seen a flippin tube or a ts spinnerbait..one pond I caught 30+ in about an hr. The last pond we fish was a good one I threw a spinnerbait by a laydown and this hog came up and rolled on it and I just jerked it away.I picked up my flippin stick with a blk and blue tube and threw back in where I thought she was and she hit and the fight was on!!
The second pic is the friend of mine that I stay with when i’m out west and he took me to these ponds…it was funny because he doesn’t know how to use a baitcatser and he had a zebco 33..he lost a spinnerbait and walked back to the truck to get another one and he tried fishing on the other side of the pond..his first cast he started yellin..I looked over and his ugly stick was about bent from tip to tip and he did manage to get his fish in and it was a little bigger then mine..I threw mine back and he kept his to get mounted..there was noway I could talk him out of it either..he thought I was nuts for thowing mine back…I drove him home and his neighbor had a food service scale and it weighed 6.25lbs!!
He said he’s been fishing farm ponds his whole life and hasn’t seen fish like that ever..I just laughed…I guess i’ve been blessed to catch 5+lbers from the river I guess!!
btw..he’s mad at zebco because he stripped out his gears on his new reel
