I was going through all my tackle, replacing hooks on cranks, topwater baits, etc… During that time I started thinking which presentations I like best. For me, I like pitching/flipping plastics into grass banks & weedlines. I catch a lot of nice fish doing this. Next would be throwing cranks. Fat Raps, DT series cranks & Bandits. Granted, I love topwater.

What presentations do you guys like to use more than others?

Ain’t gonna lie to ya….i like the ol’ flip the bobber anywhere offshore…..then help my kids with theirs, perhaps open a cold diet pepsi….and sit back and just have a silent conversation with God.

    That’s my favorite presentation.

i don’t catch much, but the quality time is priceless.

Honestly I see that presentation becoming one I’ll be using soon. My Daughter Matti is old enough to fish and my boy Wil isn’t too far behind.

I still love a Zebco Clasic rigged with a Thill bobber and a wire hook.

my problem is that i always have 3 flippin sticks ready to go at al times they do catch quality fish but last year i forced myself to try different presentations for all situations. i have to say i have learned alot in the last year just from experimenting and fishing with other people. co angler type events are great tools to learn new techniques. when are we gonna hook up blue

    Soon!!

Too busy with work and family. I talked to Bob @ Tri State and he’s going to run the Tuesday night tourneys every week this year.

I promise you will never find a more satisfying presentation. My daughter is 7 (and LOVES to fish) and my son is 10 (fishing is ok, rather be playing football/baseball/wrestling….)

The QT is priceless…someday, I’ll go back to workin’ for fish, right now, I’m passing down my love to those who matter most.

I just gotta love kicking back with the lead core out doing a “S” troll on the flats and hearing the creak of the rod holder makes when connects on a good one, no mater what it is!

    No doubt:

    1) topwater

    2) flipping/pitching

    3) slop fishing (kind of also topwater I guess, but also pretty different)

    All the rest.

Not that those are the best, but they are the ones I most enjoy.

Tom, you have any of the Flat DT series yet? I got a few, I think your going to like the action.

My two favorites are flipping jigs into trees and swimming jigs through the grass flats. Heck, I think I actually love them all, aslong as I am on the water! It will be happening soon, getting a newer boat Friday. 99 Stratos with a 150 Can’t wait to hit the water and jerk lips!

I love throwing blade dancers. They catch everything!; smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, spotted bass, black bass, rock bass, northern pike, southern pike, middle eastern pike, pike with tempers, relaxed pike, pike that eat other pike, catfish with whiskers, catfish without whiskers, dogfish, muskies, smallmouth bass, pike that won’t eat other pike. EVERYTHING!!!

actually my favorite technigue would have to be a baby blue swim jig outfishing dnort from the back of his boat.

For the sheer joy of the bite and the hookset I would say pitching cut banks with the Beav or a jig! You just can’t beat seeing the fish flash right when the bait hits the water and then feeling that big thump. My favorite for catching numbers is definitely a Brovarney swim jig- accounted for a good 75% of my fish the past few years.

Brovarney Baits? Never heard of them….

I have to admit, swim jigs are fun. Does Brovarney have a website?

    I sure hope that wxyz1234abc guy doesn’t show up….

That is it, I talked to one of the moderators about this site being “good old boys” and he urged me to stay with it. Now, I see it is happening again! BLUE, why do you intimidate people again? the fight is over! I check back at this site to maybe gain some useful info. and I see you, a “steering committee member” trying to muster up a fight with whoever the guy was that was questioning Brovarney. My 15 year old kid is more mature then some of the people looking to stir up trouble on this site.
I am out of here, take your good old boy friends network and keep it.

    Riverbassman,

don’t worry bud, they are cleaning up us “good ole boys”, as i was removed as a moderator and staffer…

So things are getting better, don’t leave just yet

Yes, you are right. I was stirring the pot. My bad. It’s been one of those days/weeks and it is not right for a Steering Committee Member to do that. Sometimes, I forget my place/title.

I too am urging you to stay with it. It’s not a “good old boy” club trust me on that one. I don’t know very many personally on the Bass Forum. Maybe a handful. There is lots of info to be found here. Most times all you have to do is ask.

I think the huge amount of cabin fever is affecting us all.

I am NOT trying to muster a fight or indimidate anybody. Just being a smart aleck. If I offended you, I apologize. Sincerely.

My favorite technique is the good ol’ spinnerbait Can’t hardly go wrong with that in the early season. I have also just got started into the plastics for bass such as tubes and senko’s. Still don’t have any faith in the crankbaits yet, but that may change this year.

Spinnerbaits are my go-to bait but this year I’m going to force myself to use plastics and learn them.

And here I thought it was just a joke.. a little jab between fellow fishermen!

Carry on, I love this site and all it has to offer.

Oh yeah…….. I also love any type of fishing that includes a bass on the end of my line!

I must have missed something comletely, but why do you use the word “intimidate” regarding Blue’s responses. There is absolutely nothing derogatory or critical in any of the responses I have seen and I am not one of what you refer to as the good old boys. Fact is I live in Milwaukee, although fish the Mississippi a lot because my dad still lives in Winona.

About a year ago I was very critical about the board, especially because of the emphasis on Pool 4. The response I got was simple and accurate. One of the members simply told me I was free to report whatever I wanted and report on whatever pools I fished. I did provide some reports last year, albeit I hope to do more in 2006.

Anyway, what is your hang-up with Blue Fleck.

Seriously? They couldn’t just put you on the Faber College double-secret probation for a while?

I’ve always enjoyed the seemingly good-natured ribbing that goes on here in the Mississippi Bass Forum. What fun would fishing be if you couldn’t give one another some grief once in a while?

I agree Will-Eye. Its too bad they eliminated Jerimiah. Jerimiah was and is dedicated to bass fishing. Jerimiah was also dedicated to IDA. I think we will miss his “straight up and accurate” reports and ideas.
