The Wolf River is in eastern Wisconsin–near Oshkosh. The waterway is a part of a large area of water…including the Fox River, Lake Winnebago, etc. It’s big, and it can be tough.

spinner dave—did you find the Wolf river yet? I fish it often and can be a bear to fish. What are you looking for to fish? Main fish are White bass, walleye, cats, and Smallies……
    Very crowded in spring……

Thanks for your replies , I was thinking there is a BFL tourny up there . Was hoping to try a couple of them but didnt want to fish one that was going to be tough.

You can catch walleyes as soon as the ice is off. The bigger run is early April. After that the white bass take over for the month of May. To keep track you can go to the http://www.lake-link website and check it out. Once the river is open alot of guys will fish and report on a daily basis..
For spinner dave–come on down and fish the BFL. It’s in July and one of the better times. Lots of fish and boat traffic. But a fun time. Nice tourney. Usually takes a mid 10 to 11 lb bag to get a check…..There is a smaller ABC bass tourney in May on Winneconne to. Could use that time for pre-fishing abit. For more info check out http://www.abcbass.com. And look under Wisconsin North division………….doug

It is not uncommon for the males to be in the spawning areas already in February. If you are asking when the females main push for the spawn comes it is usually when the water temp gets to 45 degrees and stays or the closest full moon to April 1st whichever comes first. So you don’t misunderstand some of these fish are resident on thw Wolf all year round. You did ask about Walleye Right??
