I have had alot of success on pool 4 when the smallies move up shallow on the secondary points. Has anyone tried a carolina rig out there to catch them deeper or have any suggestions of how to? I have had a little success dragging a tube on the bottom, but no where nere as much as when they move up to feed.

I have a few spots on the main lake that I drag a c-rigged watermelonseed/red tailed lizzard. It is 10-15 foot of water off of some points on the west side of the lake. I have caught some on the Wisconsin side too, but spend most of my time on the MN side. Some of these points have great numbers of smallies on them that hang deep waiting to ambush bait fish.

What about a drop-shot? Anyone try that?

    Casey,

The smallies seem to spread out to much to drop-shot. A word on the C-rig. The only sinker I can get through the rocks with is the Lindy No-Snag. I’m hung up all the time with lead.
