Mississippi on TV

    The last two weekends the might Mississippi was on fishing shows on ESPN. Did anyone else see it? Jimmy Houston was fishing out of LaCrosse and you could easily see that in the first segment he was fishing south of Stoddard and you could see the Genoa power plant. This weekend on North American Fisherman they showed the Walleye tournament out of PdC and several times showed people fishing in the current at one of my favorite bass fishing spots south of Prairie . It was nice to see the national exposure to our great fishery and to see them using techniques that I use to catch fish.

    SPEAKING OF THE MISSISSIPPI ON TV, I HAVE THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL (“OUT” CHANNEL 606) ON THE SATELLITE. THERE IS A SHOW CALLED “MIDWEST BASS FISHIN’ AND HUNTING”. THE LAST TWO EPISODES FEATURED THE HOST FISHING WITH JIM JOHNSON. ON LAKE ONALASKA ONE DAY AND THE MAIN CHANNEL IN POOL 8 THE SECOND DAY.
    AFTER THAT, BABE WINKELMAN WAS ON. HE WAS FISHING FOR SMALLIES ON POOL 8. TOUGH TO KEEP THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI A SECRET FOR LONG.
