i too have been lookin for them. Looks like a sweet technique that i could adapt to and have a ton of confidence in. Wal-mart doesn’t carry them, i searched it high and low last time However, i’m sure gander does and probably ace too.

    Waterfowler99,

Check out websites from MI and OH. Everyone is using the Right Bite Heads that Zona is pushing. They have Gamakatsu hooks and appear to be the choice of the pros. I have several websites but I don’t think I can put them on here.

I know I’ll look like an idiot posting this, but can someone give me the 411 on the “shaky head” thing?

MossBoss, A shakey head is basically a round head jig, in a variety of weights (1/8 ounce is what I use most) – find someone that make one with a good plastic retaining barb or keeper and a premium 4/0 or 5/0 hook and you are on to something.

Then you get yourself 6″ Yum Houdini worms in green pumpkin for stained water and cotton candy (color in the same worm) which is translusent (sp) for clear water, or the straight tail worm of your choice, cast it out, let it hit bottom, then drag it, hop it, swim it, or whatever you care to do with it but they do catch fish – especially from the back of the boat or when the bire is off.

So basically it is a jigworm using a straight tail worm???

Moss, the worm is normally texas rigged on the jig (thats why you need the oversized hook) unlike the jig-worm were its “threaded” on the hook. The the tail of the worm stands up off the bottm giving it a more natural presentation and puts the hook in the optimum position…great tool when fish are finiky. The standard bullet and hook texas rig tends to lay on its side when at rest.

Ah, so that Reaction Innovations head Blue Fleck posted in the other thread is actually what a “shaky head” jighead is?

Has this been used much with a Senko type bait? Seems that may work too.
