After looking at the payouts compared to entries, it looks like bass is shelling out alot of money. $5000 entry okay, 106 anglers with 50 taking home at least $10,000. It looks like they are going to loose $300,000 a tournament. Times 11 that is $3,000,000 plus the Bassmaster and Majors payouts. Let alone however many sponser expempt spots. It looks closer to a $5,000,000 loss. Does anybody have a thought on how bad this can be if this doesn’t succeed soon?
Just a thought but it seems like their new format ran off alot of guys though, and they are going to pay the price.

I think I’m doing my math a little different.

    $5,000(entry) x 106(anglers)= $530,000
    37 payouts @10,000 = 370,000 (top 12 get higher paychecks)
    $530,000 – $370,000 = $160,000

The top 12 get a payout total of @ $287,000
    (per Payout Bracket )

    $160,000
    – 287,000
    ———————
    -$127,000

So the way I see it, The anglers are covering almost the entire payout…I would imagine $127,000 (give or take) isn’t much to cover with all the tour sponsors they have. Wal-mart alone is probably sinking millions into FLW, then tack on every other sponsor they have…

    Thoughts?

It has everything to do with sponsorship money period. Take a look a the PGA payoffs. The average tournament now pay’s out 6 million, if the PGA was covering the tab they would be broke in a few months, and the PGA pros don’t even pay an entree few in most cases. The only way to figure this one out whould be to know a $ figure on what the sponsors are kicking in. You talk about Walmart, Citco had the greatest earnings in america history of any company, brining home around 9 billion in profits. Just say Citco kicks in $1,000,000 a year, thats only 1/9,000 of there profits which is a tax write off anyway. That amount along would cover most of the Elite Circut. You then have all the other sponsors, plus who know’s Citco could be putting in $5,000,000 ??? Anyway you look at it there’s money coming in from this. Plus I’m sure ESPN has some pretty deep pockets anyway.
