I am going down to Table Rock Lake in mid-April and I have no clue what to expect. Have any of you boys been down that way that time of year? I am hoping they will be spawning!

The jerkbait bite will be over and the spots will be using shear drops on inside and outside turns. a small hula grub or Hair Jig will punish them. The largemouth on the main big water may still be spawning but I doubt it. Smallies by the Dam and the spots will be ready to eat.

If you put in at Kimberling city you will have one heck of a run but if you are looking for Largemouth the King river is the best place in my opinion. I have boated a pile of really big largemouth in the coves and such.

The spawn will probably be over for the most part. Or at least that’s what I’m hoping for. There’s an unbelievable post spawn pattern down there that I’m hoping to get on.

I’ll be down there 4/5 – 4/9, so I can give you an update when I get back.

I’am going down in mid April also. Last year in mid April the spawn was going strong. Caught a ton of Spots and LM on the White River and up the James. The best locations were the back half of deep water coves in the trees. The fish were up shallow (4′ to 12′). Started out with a Shakey worm and when that bite turned off switched to a Senko. Learned how to sight fish for bedding fish using a white tube bait. Hersh

Like JC said it is along ride from K-City to the rivers. I would look into staying at Shell Knob where you are really close. It is no fun driving the road from K-City to Shell Knob, it is up and down and round and round.Once down that road is enough .

I know some guys who go down about that time and they fish at night. All they do is swim jigs in the Aunts Creek area. They do manage to catch some real nice ones from 6-9lbs most years . They get a little extreme in their presentations at times. If the moon is out and bright they will fish in the “shade” from the moonlight .I cant really comment much on that but they seem to think it helps.
