Let’s not get too worked up here fellas. Read the whole story. Especially the last few lines.

I think the last paragraph speaks volumes…

Of course I am just kidding – the Senko isn’t going anywhere. Nevertheless, can you imagine how sad it would be if this story were true? In this day and age, we can’t take anything for granted. Live life to its fullest.

Anyone found any Senko knockoffs that are as good or better than the original? I like the Yum Dingers, but think the Senkos are a bit better.

    Mossboss,

Buddy of my is a materials research chemist at 3M. Basically the dude could talk for 30 minutes and I’d never understand a word he said. One smart cat. Anyway, he is also of the the best fisherman I know. He did Mucho research on the “Senko” baits a year or so back. If I can find the link to his data, I’ll send it to you. Basically he measure everything such as salt content, weigh, consistency between baits, etc as well as fishing them for stats. The Wacko’s were the closest to the Senko. (www.wackyworm.com) MUCH cheaper too.

The BPS Sticko was the most inconsistent. One of the Sticko’s in the bag might be very similar to a Senko, but the other’s may not. He said out of a 20 ct bag, 10 might float, 5 my sink and 5 might suspend. Salt content, air bubbles, etc were all a mixed bag.

I would be very interested in that research. Doesn’t surprise me the BPS baits are the most variable. Thanks for the info.

    What’s everyone’s favorite Senko color? Mines motoroil-redflake. It’s a goody.

Yum Dingers for me too, been using them for years. Also Lake Fork Ring Fries work rather nicely, if you want a little larger presentation!

You all took the Senko joke a lot better than some people.

Yeah that’s what Jay Kumar told me the night
before the article hit the internet.

I have to call Yamamoto today, they want me to put a
bigger, more obvious “THIS IS A JOKE” near the title for the thousands of people that called yesterday in a panic.

LOL At least most people thought it was a funny joke (myself included).

    Take Care everyone,

The right bite knockoffs are great, I think you can get them at this popular place in LaCrosse. What was it’s name of yeah Bob’s bait and tackle off Clinton Street. Half the price and more durabilty.

    Dan,

Andalusia is about 5 minutes outside of Rock Island (Quad Cities). In reference to your request for an ABA district in La Crosse, there is a guy on this forum named Ken Warren, he would be the guy to talk to. I know he is starting another district up north somewhere but I am not sure where.

PS: Knock-Off Senkos are not as good as the original. If they were, everyone would be talking about them instead.

Let me say this first, I am cheap. I will not pay 5-6.00 for a bag of plastic or 6 or 7.00 for a spinnerbait. I have never bought a senko but but use the Tiki worm and others very effectively. If the senko was to be discontinued it would be due the market place and the cost of his product. Sounds like there are users who think senkos are worth the extra money but to me they are not.Blast me if you want ,thats just me. I do however pay the price for a premium jerkbait like the pointer minnow

The Tiki has less salt then most of the knock offs or senko’s so i like to use them in water less then 3ft. Any thing deeper i dont have the patience to use Tiki. They make a black an silver thats very effective in the spring.

Dan, I just wanted to say that the ABA is always looking to expand. We are starting a new district on pool 10 out of Harpers Ferry this year and if that goes well I think LaCrosse could be a logical next step. The biggest hurdle would be finding a director.

    I’ll keep you informed.
