Lake Onalaska Question

I was just wondering what the normal river stage is for Lake Onalaska. And is it safe to run fast across the lake during the normal stage in a bass boat?

I run it all the time….But I grew up on Lake Onalaska and know where to run and where not to run.

If you are coming out of the lock and heading over to the lake, you SAFEST bet is to parallel the spillway and then parallel the length of the island to wherever you are going.

During Normal stages the shallow area’s will have weed growth and you’ll be able to see it fine. Wouldn’t worry all that much…if you need a map with depth contours, I can email you one.

Not sure on the flow thing. But I do know you can run helter skelter across it. All the other bass boats do It is nothing to see roostertails flying all around the lake. There is a main “channel” that most run in. It is about the only place that isn’t choked with weeds anymore

I have been boating the lake for years. I would go all out. Never had to worry about a thing! Good luck fishing.

Wats an I found a big rock pile that extended alittle ways from the bank also. It almost looked like a wind dam. Where was that at Wats?
