Well he stayed pretty steady there and finished 15th. Great and inspirational for those of us that have a lot of admiration for a local long time bass HERO. The feild was full of the names we have heard for years and he took a bunch of them to school. Ofcourse that is a pretty familiar theme with Mr. Monsoor. I am amazed though at the low paycheck for 15th only $6000. He has had paydays a lot better than that if you include boats, etc. Don’t know how long he has been down there, but after entries and living expenses(if he’s been down there a month like lot’s of the guys do for the big tourneys), there can’t be much left of the $6000.

I hope he got the additional sponsorship he was looking for so the money goes in his pocket where it belongs. Anyway best of luck Tom and Angler of the Year and some wins are right there in front of you.

    Congrats to Monzy.

I for one hope he does well and continues on this path. Especially if it means I won’t be donating my funds to his checking account in our local circuits. lol
Many people don’t like Tom mostly due to his ability to catch fish when they can’t seem to put things together.
I will caution you on your choice of Hero’s and leave it at that.

    Good Job Monzy!!!

Yes, I was really impressed and glad to see him at that level (some say he has difficulty translating what he does on the Mississippi and in the BFL to what he needs to do in the FLW and BASS circuits).

$6,000 isn’t bad even for a month’s worth of work travel and expenses. I’d take that all year long if given the choice.

Ok, are there any boat ramps open -probobly not- ?

I can barley scratch that itch any more, and I can’t get down South as usual, so I thought I’d begin to look for any open water.

    Thanks,

It is great to see Tom back at it in the higher level again. I don’t think they can put him down this time like they did at Megabucks. What a bunch of crap that was. Again happy to see a river man move on and succeed.

I guess I haven’t heard the whole exchange… Could you please enlighten the board.
From what I gathered he was in this competition and he did his best and that was that.
    I am intrigued.
    Thanks

Sorry it took so long to get back. Now I am playing from memory and info not from the horses mouth so please take with a grain of salt. Basically back in the late 80’s or early 90s Tom placed 4th in the BASS Megabucks but was disqualified after the tournament because supposibly he was caught talking to a local guide, which was taboo at the time. I beleive a lower placing more well known angler turned him in if you get my drift. Again I can’t remember a lot of details and info is a little fussy.
