    Well,

Today brought a new challenge as BC and I hit up pool 5. B.C. has a clubber up there next weekend, so pre-fishing was in order.

Once again, the morning started off fairly nice weather wise, sunny, little chilly, and no wind. (didn’t last long) .

Now we didn’t have the day we had yesterday , we had to work for ’em today. We caught fish, but left with quite a few questions, and I was hoping some of you 5 regulars could answer some.

    1. Obviously the draw down has displaced a ton of water….so are there a lot of area’s that you could normally fish that are just plain out of water? It seems like all the good stuff we wanted to get to was in 1 1ft or less.

    2. Is there much on the South end of the pool to fish period?

    3. Had we not had to fight 30mph winds and whitecaps on the main channel, is the wingdam bite fairly decent?

    4. Does this pool have any weeds/pads? The few area’s we did find were holding fish, but it didn’t seem like there was a lot to choose from.

I’m sure if we were to go up under “normal” conditions, the entire pool will have changed, I guess we just expected more

Here is B.C. w/an early morning biter. Bad Cam light, sorry

BC was one up on me at this point. I saw a fish boil in some open water and so I threw in, this bugger slammed my spinner

Like I mentioned above, the weeds we did find produced some nice fish…they were just far and few between. We did find an area that was holding a few of these

We threw a lot of spinnerbaits and jigs today. That’s what we caught the majority of our fish on. We fished some rocky shorelines and rip rap with beavers, tubes, superhogs, and grubs, but it only yielded undersized smallies and wannabe rock bass.

    1. Last weekend there was a fair amount of places I couldn’t get to that you can under normal pool, yet it is much better than before they started to raise it back up.
    2. For sure.
    3. I believe some of the best fish weighed in last weekends tourney were wing dam fish. Word of mouth only. Not sure.
    4. Very much so.
