I was going to include this, but it might be considered advertising… On one of the pages you are referred to:

    Whitewater Publications Inc.
    1690 20th Ave
    Becker, Mn 55308

Who knows if that place is still in business….

Another good book is “Think like a fish” by Tom Mann. It is not that old of a book either. It offers some good insight on bass fishing.

Its not like I need another book for my library but I do respect much of what Dan Gapen says. He has a multi species book that I consider second to none.

As Jeremy implied, there are a heck of a lot of books on fishing available. I particularly like Gapen’s books because he talks specifically addresses fishing on rivers…it is not just a chapter. He covers ideas from very small to very large rivers. His books are not for the “techie fisherman”. He interjects many stories and folklore and sometimes you are wondering if you are reading a novel. The first book I read by Gapen was “River Fishing – A Happy World”. When we were first learning the Mississippi I had my fishing partners read it also. It certainly gave us a good start.

As I said, his writing style is not for everyone…I like it because it reads sometimes meanders, just like the rivers he writes about.
