well i just had that ” i havent been fishing in 3 days feeling” so i had to go! I have been watching my little sister all day because my mom has been working so she tagged along for the day. we were just gonna try a few spots and see what was working. We started out at the bridge and i caught a very small northern on a buzzbait on my first cast…We didnt catch anything else at the bridge so we moved on to one more spot. I fished everywhere with nothing special on the buzzbait…i just had one swirl in a small patch of scum when i brought it across. I through a scum frog back in and he hit it again, but spit it before i could drop the rod and nail him. I picked up the buzzbait again and headed out on a tree that occasionally has some truly big bass on it. A few years ago i caught a very nice bass there on a prop bait.. Well i made a cast between these two lims and brought the buzzer across with nothing. I made a few more casts in a couple different areas and then i threw the buzzer back in between those two lims. The buzzer was not buzzing for more than 3 seconds when an enormus bass busted it. a lot of times, this is where the fish storie ends with something like “i swung and missed” or “i set the hook and the line just snapped”…..but nothing went wrong with this fish…Im sure my line is pretty fraid(sp?) but i was impressed that i was able to jerk this huge bass out of the tree limbs with 10 lb. trilene! I got her up to the tree that i was standing on, and i couldnt get my thumb in her, she kept shaking..i was shaking more though! i thought she would shake off, but finally she cooperated and let me lip her and bring her up.. At this point i went ike and i didnt care who saw! this was a big bass and it felt great! when i picked it out of the water, the buzzer fell right out of its mouth! If i would have let the line go slack, she would have been gone! well after a few pics, i waded out in the water( because it was too shallow right at shore) and let her go. Oh yah, we measured her to be 19-1/2 too. Great fish, fat too!

    Nice fish Cade!

I think you need to change your IDA handle to “Goose Island King.” You really know where to find the fish there.

    Keep it up.
