That guy was my co-angler in an Everstart once and he lives near Lake Champlain. I’m guessing he is good at getting them smallies to go. His pro today was Moygnagh and he zeroed. Interesting.
I just talked to Joe. He’ll be coming home tommorow. He did say that Jim Jones was leading when Joe left the weigh in. I don’t know where he will end up but most likely towards the top.
Jim was leading and will make the top ten…Great job man!!! JHall got a big goose egg today but was around fish, reason I know is my partner had 18.5 lbs. Unfourtunately thats big water fishing for ya, i need a beer!!!
Congrats on third place on the co-angler side Jim and good luck today! Just goes to show us you can do it from the front AND back of the boat! May the day bring you fat and plentiful smallies!

What happened? Were you fishing the 7-12ft of water that everyone has been saying they’re at? Was he doing something different than you?
Jones and his boater blanked today. Tomorrow he is paired up with the 9th ranked boater who appears to have blanked as well. But HOLD ON! His partner tomorrow actually had nearly 19# today but was dq’d for fishing in an off-limits at the end of the day killing time before the weigh-in. This is the same guy who lead the tournament after day 1 & 2. So, Jim’s little stummble today might pay off BIG for tomorrow!
JHall, I can definitely sympathize with you. I had a similar experience with Jones-In on Saturday of the LaX Everstart. Some days are just like that. It makes it especially hard when you expect to catch fish and think you should be catching them!! I guess you just try to learn from the day, try to remember all the days YOU the fish while the other guy in the boat struggled, and move on SC
Anyone looking to catch BIG smallies needs to go to Escanaba. That place is loaded with them. We saw many fish over 6lbs just swimming around and I was told last year during the fall creel census one DNR guy saw 11 fish over 8lbs – Amazing
