In another thread, DanWi mentioned he had good luck on creature baits. I have a pack or two of Zoom Brush Hogs, but haven’t really got around to throwing them. I think I heard they were good and grabbed a pack minus the education. Do any of you use these things? How???

Texas rig, and i fish them around brush obviusly and anything else…rocks weeds…you name it…they are really cool baits in the water and i have caught a couple decent ones on brush hawgs this year including a 17 incher. My friend got back from Michigan and got a 21 3/4 largemouth on one too… lucky…I spend 5 days a week on the water and he fishes maybe once or twice a week if that and he goes out and catches that hawg…

Also, creature baits dont mean brush hawgs…there are all kinds of creature baits out there…i have some from Gary Yamamoto that are really cool..Havent got around to using them much, but i hope i can get my moneys worth as they were 6.99 for a pack of 7

    Good luck

I stuck a few fish last night on a baby brush hog made by Zoom. I normally texas rig them and pitch them outside weed lines or drop them in “holes” in the weeds. They also work well on rocks and timber…it’s really a versatile bait.

I heard that some old boy down in Carolina likes to throw them anywhere he can drag his sinker, rock, sand, weeds.

Brush Hogs are a staple in my boat. I am also a fan of the texas rig. I have even been known to throw them weightless over foil matts and pads.

I texas rig them as well and have really used the heck out of mine this year.
In the past I thought that they may be to big and I would miss many bites. Not the case they have worked out great…I would like to thank Mossboss for that education.

The zoom brush hogs are good. I use them myself and like everyone else i texas rig them. They are also good on a Carolina rig. Usually i drag or bounce them along the bottom but you can also use them as a swim bait

We definitely fish some weeds, so I think I might pitch one of those Brush Hogs in there instead of the usual tube or jig. Thanks for the info guys! By the way, I got a 20″, 4 lb. largemouth this past weekend up at Holcombe Flowage…pics coming eventually, though they have to be developed. That’s my biggest fish, and it was a thrill!!
