Got out for about 4 hours yesterday. Water temp 60 degrees, warmed to 62. I love September fishing. Pretty steady topwater action. Pattern was super simple. Find weeds+shad=bass. Most came on a buzzbait, spook, and texas rigged plastics pulled on top, some on frogs, a few on tubes, and spinnerbaits. Didn’t really matter what I used, but it seemed white worked better in everything.

I was impressed with the sheer #’s of bass in the 14-16 inch range. Out of around 30 bass, I bet 80 % were in this range. Man, if this year class keeps thriving, fishing two years from now should be phenomenal. Talked to a guy at the landing who found a few pods of 3 and 4 pounders. Now is the time to be out!!!

Of course, now I can’t get out this week because of work, and duck hunting starts next weekend.
