went out fishing last night and caught 27 fish between me and a friend. All were bass up in the weeds on flukes, spinners, and buzz’s. but we couldn’t get one over 2 1/2-3 lbs. what am i doing wrong? ideas? aslo were i fish on pool 8 there are always tons of schools of shad and shinners but i can never catch any bass from them. Are the bass not there? or just not bitting? any suggestions would be great.

If there’s baitfish, there’s usually bass. For some reason, the big ones tend to school together, so if you’re catching just small ones, you might want to try fishing out a littler deeper or shallower, depending on your spot. Many times the small ones will be more aggressive and go after the spinnerbaits and flukes. Try throwing a jig or lizard, it will eliminate a lot of the smaller fish and the big fish love em! You probably won’t get as many bites, but the ones you do get should be better size.
Also with the river low and falling as quick as it is right now, get out of the weeds and starting fishing wood! Submerged logs and sticks in 2-8 feet of water. The cleaner the water, the better! Good Luck!
