can anyone tell me- are these the “old” wiggle warts that are getting such a fuss on the tourney trail? Thanks.

Can’t really tell from the picture, but the sure way to find out is by looking at the bill. The old style is all one piece of plastic…the body and the bill are all molded at one time. The new style has a separate, clear bill attached to the bait after the body is molded.

i believe these are the older version. Storm lures now come in a brite yellow case and have their logo on the side. Also, the newer storm version, i believe is called the wobbling wort. I lost a big bass on one of these one time, they truly do wobble like crazy..

The older ones are the one piece units as said before, and these appear to be those from the containers shown. I believe that Rapala bought them out and started using the two peice concept.

Those look to be the old style warts. There were several different production runs of the “old style” wart though. Those look to be the latter of the old style. Most of the ones that the boys on the trail are use are from the black label production runs. The colors you have were VERY mass produced as the wart became real popular during the later production run. If you take a look on ebay you can see a lot of the older productions runs. The labels on the box will date the production.

Hope this helps! (By the way, I’m originally from SW MO where the wart is an AWESOME bait. I’ve yet to fine the success on the wiggle wart of here, but that doesn’t mean anything. ;o) The Mag Wart has worked pretty well for me here.)

    Thanks,
    Chuck

The cool thing about the old wart was that it would move sideways when it hit stuff.

I will look at home at my stock of warts and see. I think they are the newer of the original Storm warts. Oh can you say Mag Warts

So when will Storm be re-releasing these at 9.99 per crankbait?

Isn’t that what happened with the original Big-O after last year’s Classic?
