Today i headed out with Casey goode (KC gon fishin) who is recovering from a broken coller bone(stupid accident on a moped). This was his first time going for bass in a month! I showed him the way to the spots where i was on them yesterday and he prevailed! He IMIDIATELY started puting fish in the boat while i was falling further and further behind. For a while it was 1 to 1. then he started piling them on. The pattern for the day proved to be either timber with a red and black plastic worm or weed beds with a red and black plastic worm. All fish were caught on this except for 2 (by me) which were caught on a YUM wooly hawg craw and a ZOOM superfluke. The spot that produced the most gave out several bass, although they were rather small. I caught one on the superfluke and had what would have easily been the biggest on the day come up and smash it. Ok ok, i will finally give you the totals. Casey ended up with 10 largemouth, a rock bass, and a 30 inch northern. I ended up with 5 largemouth. Casey pulled in two keepers and 2 that were an inch shy. I pulled in one keeper. Sadly, casey’s boat, casey’s rules, and all three keepers were filleted tonight

i really wasnt having the best day, having some mishaps, like setting the hook on a fish only to watch the line come flying back, realizing that your whole set up was just snapped off…and missing a few as well. Casey was just flying through the fish. A couple times he even “stole” them from me. Once i was working this log with nothing to boast, and then he throws in there, same worm…He nails a 13 incher! Then, i was throwing up against a bank and i saw a fish swim out.. than i realized he had my worm..i started reeling up slack and i lost him. Then casey throws in and nailed him!

All in all it was a great day for both of us even though he creamed me…I still feel good knowing that I put HIM on FISH!!!

    northern
(this is a great spot for big summer northern…Creek channel {2 feet deep} then slightly deeper into 6 feet deep, and then a steep dropoff to 22 feet. I caught my 2nd biggest northern here a few years back at 38 inches. I took several others over the 34 inch mark
