Outside of Berkley Powerbait & Chompers, how many people take their plastics out of the bags they come in and put them in storage containers? Or do you find it easier to keep them in the bags?

I do both. I have about 6 plano trays that I keep plastics in, but I also have about 15 or so bags of plastics that I have shoved everywhere in my two tackle bags. I prefer the trays, as they don’t fly all over the place, but I also don’t want to have to ad another tackle bag.

I typically keep them in the bag, to retain their moisture, scent etc….

If I were to start putting them in containers, i’d probably make sure to spray them down w/a scent attractor.

I leave them all in the packages, and then put the packages in the plastic containers that Huggies baby butt wipes come in. I have one for tubes, one for flukes/semkos, one for hawgs, one for worms, etc. The butt wipe containers fit the 10 count bags very well. Keeps me a bit organized, though you can’t tell by looking at my boat.

I know some have posted in the past about using rubbermade or tupperware type containers to store plastics. Would someone let me know what size you use and how it works for you??? – I was thinking it might be nice to have a size large enough to file all my plastics in their bags like cards in a recipe file with a manilla separator to place into catagories… so upright and stacked front to back… I have too many plastics – NO – I take that back – I just need a good way to store them all and I’ll feel better!!! I leave them in the bags that they come in. I do use the rubbermaid containers to store them in, as for size it really depends on your boat storage areas. I use three that fit into my storage areas very nicely. One for tubes, one for ring worms and paddle tails, the last one for craws, staight worms, spike-it bottles, misc.
I just grabbed a bag of tubes at walmart and walked over to the rubbermaid area to find one that I liked.

I keep all my B-Fish-N Tackle plastics in the re-sealable bag they come in. The bags are kept in a tupperware type container. Works great.
    Thanks, Bill

I put everything, including Berkley, and Chompers, in
Plano 3600 and 3700 storage boxes. I do keep the bags
of “extras” in my tackle storage area, in my shop, in big flat
Rubbermaid storage containers. I think the containers are for
under bed storage. When I hit the road, for a tournament,
I just load these big Storage containers, in the truck,
along with supplies to make jigs, spinnerbaits, and
buzzbaits, just in case my boat supply takes a hit, during
pre-fishing, or tournament fishing. After every fishing
trip, I can just pull out the couple 3600/3700s I was
pulling plastics from, walk them up to my tackle storage
area, reload the Plano boxes, and return them to my
soft tackle bags. Then I mark down what I am running
low on, in my tackle bench stock, and when I get a decent
amount to order, I usually head out on the web, and start
ordering replacements. I do watch for “on sale” stuff,
and local tackle outlets, and buy up any stock I can
find below the usual market price. This system is
kind of like a business supply chain

I may have taken organization a bit too far, but I hate
searching for tackle when I am fishing, or doing my
pre-tournament tackle selecting. I want to be able
to reach for something, find it, and never miss a lick on
the trolling motor, or with the fishin’ stick. As for
keeping plastics in their original bags, about the only
one I do that for, is Berkley Gulp. I bought a few bags
of that to try a year or so ago, and they are still sitting in
a side pocket of one of my tackle bags. I have caught
fish on them, but that dried up turd that ends up on my
hook, when I forget to remove them, keeps me from
    fishing this stuff much.

ZIPLOCK BAGS , I KEEP THE PLASTICS IN THE ORIGNAL PACKAGES AND THE PUT ALL RINGWORMS IN ONE BAG ALL SUPERDOOS IN ANOTHER AND SO ON BUT THEN PUT THEM ALL IN ONE BIG ZIPLOCK TO PUT IN MY SMALL DUFFLE BAG WITH MY RAINSUIT,BINO’S,SCALE, CAMERA,BUG SPRAY AND ECT.
    WORKS PRETTY GOOD FOR ME.

P.S. I DON’T KNOW HOW THE GUY THAT TAKES HIS CHOMPERS OUT OF THE BAG CAN STAND IT. GOOD BAITS BUT PEEYOU THEY STINK.

bringing Chompers into a motel room has caused friction in my marriage.

Heck, using Chompers in my boat has caused friction
with my partner when he was down wind.

As for wondering how I stand the smell putting Chompers
in PLano boxes, I use the “sealed” versions for the stuff
that smells like a dead Italian
