Any guesses what the winning Bass weight will be for the Catfish days tourney? As of Tuesday, there were 61 boats signed up.

If memory serves correctly, the winning bag last year was around 16lbs.

Hmmm…Last year the winning bag was taken from Slop on the Lake. Unless this new heat wave drives them under the mat and they bite, it won’t be won on the lake, or pool 7 for that matter.

I think those that go down to 8 will win, and i’m guessing it will probably take the same about tow win this year, 15 or 16 lbs….which is kinda of small really for 8 fish, or even 6 fish for that matter.

Good luck, and save us some fish for Sunday

If 6 fish, I would say 16-17 is a pretty good guess again.

6-7-8 for Catfish Days on Saturday

    7-8-9 for MSBC on Sunday.

Big Mayfly hatch last night could play a factor for the weekend

Don’t forget about the Bass World Sports out of La Crosse Saturday. Pools 7, 8, & 9. How’s that for fishing pressure.

111… That’s right… One Hundred and Eleven boats for Catfish Days… Just came home and rigged up… The dock talk was so exciting…

    Carolina Rigged Sammy’s…
    Texas Rigged Model A’s…
    Weightless Swim Jigs…
    and, my favorite…
Pink and Yellow In-line Mepps Muski Killers…

    Should be interesting…

    Boats 1-40 Flight #1 6-2PM
    Boats 41-80 Flight #2 6:15-2:15PM
    Boats 81-111 FLight #3 6:30-2:30PM

Hope to see you all at weigh-ins!

I hope I don’t jinx me, but I think my methods should work out… A once ounce weighted Sputter-buzz with a Fat Ika hook wacky style…

Looking forward to reporting tomorrow night!

(Now, I hope all see this as humorous… it is intended to be so!

Oops… my rigging techniques failed me!

    Dad and I caught 45-50 fish… we lost track after 40… 4 keepers + a
    “BC Fish”…

It was amazing, everything we did produced fish, just no keepers, and we never lost a fish that was legal. We stayed on 7, most of our success came with plastics (like MossBoss’ “Big Ugly”) in current with chuck rock, timber, or cut banks… points seemed to be best while closing dams and wing dams were secondary…

Of course, the details will just have to be spared, as it truly doesn’t benefit anybody, as 4 legals constitutes a “donation” to the cause.

Now, we did have 2 3#ers… Most, and I mean 25+ fish we caught were 12.5 – 13.5 inches… so, the next couple years ought to be filled with larger fish.

The dang river can be so humbling…

Well, how was the tournament? Any of you posters do well? Reel guy, did you stick all those fish in practice? If so, is that always how you practice so near a tournament? Just curious.

I had about the same results as you RG. Three keepers one a little over 3lbs. and 2 just keepers and a ton of 13 3/4 inch fish. My wife and I fished it had a ton of fun, caught fish all day long. I think 16.60 was the winning weight. A lot of 14 and 15 pound bags.

Don’t think you can much call a short fish a “BC FISH” anymore, seing as you were the one who actually tried to WEIGH IN a short fish, thus ending in a 2lb Penalty

Looks like from now on, all shorts will be referred to as a ReelGuy Fish……or better yet, “A Geister”

I don’t understand how you could weight in an illegal fish, RG? I think you should think twice about what you name your 13.875″ fish from now on.

Partner and I took 15th with 12.34. The bite was definately better than it has been. Just over eighteen pounds won it. Their biggest was a 4.85 largey. The winning bag was caught out of the lake. Eel grass with balls of shad swimming around the open pockets was the key. Spinnerbaits and brush hogs were the bait for the day. We caught alot of fish but we just didnt have any size to place in the money. Good turn out and a good time.
