If you are interested in catching large smallmouth, now is the time to hit the river. When my Guide customer,(BFL Angler), and I finally gave up on Largemouth and got back out in my zone,(rocks , rocks, rocks), it didn’t take us long to hook-up with some large smaliies. Right now the bigguns are right next to the smallins. Sunday was the same. With regards to largemouth we actually got a good number on the wood, but the size was small. Boy could this guy set a hook. Slop was almost a dead zone. I will be on the water all this week searching for that first late summer(fall) 5#smallie and also for the first run of walleye,(probably only a couple of weeks away).
