fishing the river

I like to fish the mississippi butt don’t do verey good. Wounld like some info on all bass and crappie and walleyes. Can any one help me. fish all up and down the mississippi bassman44 thank you for your help .

One of the best areas for catching fish is to start on a wingdam. You can find all or any species of fish there. There are thousands of wingdams on the Mississippi. Use live bait then you are almost guarantee to catch fish. With the water finally coming back down wingdams will produce some real nice walleyes and bass. Also look for cuts of the main channel. Fish the current seam in these with jigs or spinners for Smallmouth and Largemouth. I hope this helps it did for me this week.

Since you’re from Springville, one of the closest spots for you would be the back channel along the Iowa side about 5 miles south of Guttenburg. I have seen some real nice bass come out of there. Usually best during steady or rising pool conditions, flipping jigs into wood.
