I know this is a little far south for most of you but my partner and I had a pretty good bag. After a crummy practice day we decided we couldnt catch the bedding bass which were all messed up from the cold front, we would make a long run and fish some water with a little more color to it. Main lake was clear and we are not really use to that so the next morn we made the run. It started out slow but about 10:30 we started catching keeper fish. About 11:30 we caught 3 fish between 4.5 and 5 lbs and finished our limit. After another pass or two with no bites we left. We still had a 2.5lber in the well we needed to cull. Here is a tip , never leave fish like that. We made a run but could not cull that fish. As we worked closer to the main lake all the coves were being fished and and there were no easy fish to be had. We still had a great tourny but leaving those fish probably cost us the win .We had to settle for second place with 19.56 lbs,the winners had 19.98 . They still dont have the pics up but here is the results. http://www.actournaments.com/4-24loz.htm

Thank’s for the tip, next time if I get three 5 pounders in a spot during a tournament I won’t leave.

Spinner Dave, congrats on your 2nd place finish, must of been hard to leave that spot, on the water decisions are what makes ya or breaks ya. Though it sounds like you may have learned something from that day on the water which may help you in the future, Good job.

Nice finish Dave! That’s a pretty competitive bunch of guys down there so I’d certainly be proud of a second place finish. The article and picture is on midwestbasstounaments.com. I imagine all of the pressure from the everstart and the other tournaments is what led to the long run you guys made. It looks like you went so far up the osage that it probably started looking like the muddy Miss. I fished the lower osage this past weekend during the terrible cold front and things have slowed down some to say the least. Again- Good Job!
