Question about Hotfoots

As you all may know, I recently bought BassinAl’s old Ranger boat. It has a hotfoot installed (by BassinAl, which is sweet!

My question is, and I’ve seen this before…why does the pedal angle inwards underneath the console. I’ve thought it over and I thought it was because it would be easier to look back at your motor, or just easier for your foot to angle in and push the pedal down?

I’m just wondering what the reasoning for it is…maybe I’m way off…

Mine is straight forward, it is pretty easy to move them if you dont like it this way. The only guess I have is that maybe Al liked to have his left leg outside of the console and he angled to the left??? Looks like a nice ride for you BC

I think BassBaron is right. It seems like it should be easy to reposition. Mine also is straight forward in a Triton. My partner has a big Ranger and I noticed that the dash seemed low, so it might just be uncomfortable to run the hotfoot straight forward if you are fairly tall. It might be better to move it straight forward if you can, for leverage in rough water.

Nice looking boat, I am sure some Bass will enjoy riding in it…

    VERY FUNNY Fellas.

BC. Drive it first the way it is, and if you want to change it, all it takes is 4 screws to move it. The way it is now was most comfortable for me, but like Jimmy said, maybe im a little stumpy.

It won’t affect anything to move it? I thought maybe the adjustment would affect the cabling and throw something off?

No, it won’t bother it at all. You should be able to put it just about anywhere under the council.

make sure you dont run the screws thru the bottom, there is not alot of room between the floor and the bottom.

How far do the screws run? I wouldn’t want to go too far. That wouldn’t be good.

I can’t imagine running the screws through the hull, unless they are 8″ screws There is a lot of space from the floor to the hull, so that is not going to be a problem

Thanks guys…maybe I’ll adjust it if I’m not able to get used to it. I think it’ll be okay where it is though…hopefully.

Hey Al…I’m having that radio re-wired too. I know someone who does that for a living.
